Senior Project Manager, Head of NAEMEA-Aliphatic Composites – Business Unit Coatings, Adhesives and Specialties
Paul is a German chemist who received his degree from Ulm University in 2006. In 2007 he joined the ‘Wacker Institute for Silicon Chemistry’ at Technische Universität München (Germany), where he was awarded with the Wacker Presidential Science Award – a scholarship for post-graduate studies by Wacker Chemie AG. He obtained his doctoral degree with a dissertation on ‘Silicon Containing Mesogen Building Blocks’.
In 2011 Paul joined Bayer MaterialScience AG as Innovation Manager in the New Business Division, where he was in charge of various strategic projects in the area of new technology scouting and evaluation. In 2013 he joined the business unit Polyurethanes of Bayer MaterialScience AG as Project Manager for product research on new insulation technologies. During that time Bayer MaterialScience AG became Covestro AG by IPO.
Since 2016 he is Senior Project Manager and Head of NAEMEA-Aliphatic Composites at the business unit Coatings, Adhesives and Specialties of Covestro Deutschland AG. He leads a multi-disciplinary team, which is active in various R&D projects in the area of new polyurethane-based systems for fiber reinforced polymers. Furthermore he is the coordinator of a joint R&D project with 5 external partners on ‘Bio-based Polyurethane Reinforcement Lamellae for Timber Constructions’ funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. He is author of various scientific publications and inventor of numerous patent applications.
